Trial Simulation of Opening of Temple Tourism Park with Use of PeduliLindungi Application
PT Taman Wisata Candi (PT TWC) Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) conducted a trial reopening with strict health protocols and the use of the PeduliLindungi app at Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) Borobudur and Taman Wisata Candi Prambanan, Central Java, on Friday (September 17, 2021). The event was attended by several stakeholders, including the Central Java and Yogyakarta provincial governments, local governments, district task forces, and several tourism elements in the area.
The trial was conducted following the selection of two destinations managed by PT TWC as tourist destinations permitted to conduct trials of the implementation of health protocols and the use of the PeduliLindungi application as stipulated by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
PT TWC, as a state-owned enterprise managing cultural heritage-based tourist destinations, is committed to implementing the standards set by the central government in accordance with Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 39 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 Community Activity Restrictions for the 2019 Coronavirus Disease in Java and Bali. This demonstrates support for the government in suppressing the rate of COVID-19 transmission at the regional and national levels.
PT TWC President Director Edy Setijono stated that destination managers must shift their tourism paradigm in this new normal era. Regulations regarding the implementation of health protocols must be implemented professionally.
"We need to have a shared understanding that what we're doing today is a trial run. The main goal isn't to attract as many visitors as possible, but to ensure strict adherence to health protocols by management. We hope for a shared perspective to help us overcome this pandemic," he explained.
PT TWC has also obtained CHSE certification from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy at 46 attractions and destinations within its managed tourist areas, vaccinated all employees, and implemented professionally implemented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Under the new health protocol regulations, PT TWC has also implemented the use of the PeduliLindungi app for tourists and employees at TWC Borobudur and Prambanan.
Meanwhile, tourists are required to have completed at least the first vaccination, have a body temperature below 37,3 degrees Celsius, and have activated check-in on the PeduliLindungi app. PT TWC is also enforcing visitor restrictions at Borobudur and Prambanan.
"For Borobudur and Prambanan, we've set a maximum capacity of 7500 people within the area. This figure includes tourists, employees, vendors, and guests," said Edy Setijono.
To minimize crowding during PeduliLindungi screening, several barcode (QR) signage has been installed to direct visitors. Meanwhile, for tourists operating within the area, barcode scanning can be performed at several designated points.
At the Borobudur Tourist Attraction Center (TWC Borobudur), QR codes are placed at several locations, including the Borobudur Unit Office, the Manohara Resto Hall, and the Parks Unit Office. Vendors are divided into two areas: Gate 3 for vendors outside the park and Gate 5 for vendors in the SKMB area.
In the Prambanan TWC area, a number of points have placed PeduliLindungi QR codes, such as at the Prambanan Unit Office, Post B for guest visits, Post CO for BPCB Central Java and DIY employees, the trader entrance and the Prambanan Resto area.
"This trial reopening will be followed by an evaluation, as directed by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy," Edy Setijono continued.
Marketing & Service Director of PT TWC Hetty Herawati added that preparations for the opening this time were not only carried out at the destination location, but also carried out the #tAMANcandiborobudur and #tAMANcandiprambanan campaigns on social media.
"The hope, of course, is that prospective tourists are well-educated, thereby building strong awareness in the community," said Hetty Herawati.
In addition, to realize a safe destination, PT TWC urges tourists to make online reservations through the channels borobudurpark.com, Travelink, Traveloka, Tokopedia, Klook, Befree, Tiket.com, GlobalTix as well as non-cash transactions via Debit/Credit, LinkAja, OVO, Gopay, Brizzi, Mandiri
E Money, BNI Tapcash and BCA Flazz.
"We are committed to providing the best service for visiting tourists, and this digitalization will create a seamless experience. We hope the entire community will cooperate by adhering to and implementing health protocols to #SafeTourismCandi," said Hetty Herawati.
The President Director of PT TWC hopes that the opening of TWC will activate other tourist destinations and help stimulate the economy of the surrounding community.
"With today's trial simulation, the Borobudur and Prambanan Tourist Attractions (TWC) will reopen to tourists starting tomorrow, Saturday (September 18). Hopefully, the reopening of these destinations will stimulate and grow the tourism economy, particularly in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta," concluded Edy Setijono.
