InJourney Green Invites IDM Employees to Work Together to Clean the Environment

Hundreds of InJourney Destination Management staff worked together to clean the Agastya field in the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park complex in Yogyakarta on Friday, February 20, 2026. InJourney activities Green This is done as part of the national collective movement of Indonesia ASRI (Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful) as a movement to create a clean, healthy, and orderly environment.

InJourney Green is an initiative of the Indonesian State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) Tourism and Aviation Holding Company, focusing on environmental preservation through various efforts, including mutual cooperation in destination areas. This activity is also part of InJourney's 4th anniversary celebrations, under the spirit of "Working Together, Preserving Indonesia."

"Today, the IDM family conducted an environmental cleanup in the Agastya field area of the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park in support of the ASRI movement and the InJourney Green campaign. This activity is a joint effort to preserve the environment for the sustainability of a green and environmentally conscious tourism industry," explained Prambanan General Manager and Ratu Boko Ratno Timur on Friday (20/2/2026).

The participants enthusiastically cleaned the Agastya field, which houses the stones of the ancillary temples within the Prambanan Temple complex. They removed weeds and leaves that covered the area.

The collected waste is then taken to a waste processing facility or waste management at Prambanan Temple Tourism Park.

"Then, we take all the produce to a waste processing facility that processes grass and leaves into organic fertilizer. We then reuse the resulting organic fertilizer to care for the trees in our park," he continued.

The Prambanan Temple area, covering approximately 77 hectares, generates approximately 1060 kilograms of organic waste, consisting of 260 kilograms of grass cutting and tree pruning waste and 800 kilograms of tree leaf waste. Meanwhile, activities at the tourist kiosks generate approximately 300 kilograms of household waste.

"Management of household waste from tourist kiosks in collaboration with TPS3R (Waste Management Site) Reduce Reuse Recycle) in Bugisan Prambanan sub-district," he explained.

Meanwhile, organic waste in the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park area goes through several stages before being transformed into organic fertilizer. The collected organic waste is first shredded. This shredding process also separates it from non-organic materials such as plastic, stones, and other materials.

This waste is then treated with fermentation ingredients such as EM4, molasses, water, and dolomite. The anaerobic fermentation process lasts for 3–4 weeks. The resulting product is an organic fertilizer containing nutrients such as sodium, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium.

"We are striving to implement a circular economy that is environmentally friendly and sustainable. Hopefully, going forward, these efforts will be even more optimal and provide a quality travel experience with the greatest possible benefits for the surrounding environment," he concluded.
